Fifth Day of March

Reached the halfway point today and it was a scorcher at 88 degrees.  Coming into Philadephia and seeing skyline for the first time was a thrill.  A lot of history here.  We had our first newspaper interview with the Philadelphia Daily News.  And best of all we are picking up Erin tonight at the airport.ImageImageImageImageImage

Day Four of March

Not quite as exciting as yesterday with Manhattan, Jersey City, Newark and Elizabeth but we enjoyed New Brunswick and Trenton all the same.  There was a new experience walking down a bike path beside a river that was very pleasant.  The Capitol Building with its gold dome was also impressive.   Highlight was a phone call from our son Adam who told me he plans to join us for the meetings in DC on May 28 andImageImageImage a call from our daughter Erin finalizing plans to meet in Philadephia.

Day Three Highlights

Judy’s brother Howard provided great hospitality and a very special meal the night before to get us ready for “the City”.  Judy received many comments on her sign like “you go Grandma, go ” and ” I’m a Grandma too and I agree with you. “. Very heartwarming and encouraging.

New York from Jersey Side

Took a ferry from financial center in NY to Paulus Hook, NJ and then onward.

Third Day of March

The sun came out and we had a wonderful day marching through Manhattan.  We saw thousands of people, several wanted to take our picture, one wanted to join us in DC and one said ” I agree with you, though I am not American,  we think you guys are crazy “.

Second Day of March

Today was a wet, sloppy day but we made it to New York.  A highlight was a phone conversation with Jennifer Hoppe from Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America.  They will have members meet us at the Capitol in DC.  Nice.

First Day Accomplished - Stamford

An exciting day with the kick-off and reaching Stamford. Yes, a few aches and pains but nothing that 3 Advil, 4 band aids, and 2 cold compresses could not handle ( thank you Sally Rogol for your hospitality and first aid in Stamford ). But first we had an absolutely wonderful meal and company at the Hodson’s ( thank you Jim, Dee, Sophie and Abby ) the night before to prepare us for our march. Thank you for the warm hospitality and welcome.
